It takes years of expertise and products of exceptional quality for a brand to be synonymously titled with the product. Very few brands have been able to achieve that phenomenal response of sorts. We do come across some terms which should substantiate what is stated above. Colgate standing for all brands of toothpastes, Lux for all soaps, Dove for all companies that manufacture shampoo and Xerox for photocopy, are some examples. Such a renowned status has been achieved by yet another brand, gaining fame nationwide and globally for their eye-care products. They are none other than Bausch and Lomb contact lenses. Clients no longer refer to their products as lenses but call them Bausch and Lomb instead.

Bausch and Lomb Contact Lenses

Currently based in New York, Bausch and Lomb have roots in thirty-six countries, aspiring to find their way through several other prospective companies. Their wide range of lenses and lens-care products are indispensable to say the least, thereby adequately justifying their hard-earned popularity. Their routine cycle of manufacture, supply and selling of these products are efficiently done, showing an ever rising graph of their sale, annually.

Before we delve into the intricacies of this brand, let us take a minute to know the interesting history behind all their fame and popularity. Every legendary company starts from scratch, as a miniature venture. Bausch and Lomb was no different. It started in 1853 by two German immigrants, named John Jacob Bausch and Henry Lomb. From eyeglass frames and other minute associated products, they grew in terms of production. Now their names are taken in synchronization with contact lenses.Wearing-Contact-Lenses

Their first investment was into research and intensive development, three years after the birth of the company, even though it was just the beginning of a long journey. Food and Drug Administration took two years to approve of this, thereby enabling their gross investment to reach a tremendous amount of three million dollars. It was only in 1971 that the first rays of success lit the paths of the company. While other brands of that time were using plain glass or acrylic glass, intensive research had given Bausch and Lomb the Poly-HEMA technology which gave the user an unparalleled optical experience.

Do you make color contacts in +8.00 ? The only place I have been able to find them is from a company in Brazil. It seems that most brands stop at +4.00 or +6.00. I am a brown eyed girl and want to be able to change my eye color to blue and green on special occasions. Any help you can give will be appreciated. Thanks
